Information: JMMA will present this ATSSA-approved flagger certification courses on the date(s) shown above. This 4-hour course is endorsed by the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) and the Federal Highway Administration.  JMM is an authorized provider of this ATSSA course. The course is based on the MUTCD Federal requirements and includes discussion of  specific State requirements. To inquire about this course, and upcoming courses, call 703-471-7031 or email JMM.

This course allows your flaggers to meet this requirement PLUS they will be certified to flag in other states as well.

Registration: To register, contact J.M.Morales & Associates via email, or call 703-471-7031, with the name and company of the registrant(s) and bring a check for the amount of $125 for each flagger, payable to J.M. Morales & Associates, to the class. Courses are payable by check only. Maximum of 20 students per class, so don't delay your registration.

Schedule/Topics Covered:  The entire class is presented in PowerPoint©. The class includes a 25-question multiple choice exam and a flagger demonstration (dexterity test).  Students will receive their ATSSA Flagger Certification card the day of the course (upon passing the exam).  The following topics are covered:

Instructor:

The course is be taught by Juan M. Morales, P.E., President of J.M. Morales & Associates, P.C. During his 26 year career, Mr. Morales has developed and presented several courses on transportation engineering, planning and safety issues worldwide. Prior to starting his transportation engineering consulting firm in 1995, Mr. Morales served as director of technical programs for the Institute of Transportation Engineers, including directing ITE's Educational Foundation. Prior to joining ITE, Mr. Morales worked as a traffic and research engineer for the Federal Highway Administration in McLean, VA, where he was actively involved in traffic control, highway safety, congestion management, and simulation. Mr. Morales holds a M.S.C.E. degree from the Georgia Tech. He is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia and ITE member. Mr. Morales is a certified instructor for the National Highway Institute (NHI) and the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA).
